And
when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they
love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the
streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They
have their reward. But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy
closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is
in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee
openly. But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen
do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what
things ye have need of, before ye ask him. After this manner
therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy
name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in
heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts,
as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but
deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and
the glory, for ever. Amen. For if ye forgive men their trespasses,
your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men
their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
- Matthew 6:5-15
For
our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in
the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men
we were among you for your sake. - 1 Thessalonians 1:5
for
our gospel did not come to you in word only, but also in power and in
the Holy Spirit and with full conviction; just as you know what kind
of men we proved to be among you for your sake. - 1 Thessalonians
1:5
because
our gospel came to you not simply with words but also with power,
with the Holy Spirit and deep conviction. You know how we lived among
you for your sake. - 1 Thessalonians 1:5
For
when we brought you the Good News, it was not only with words but
also with power, for the Holy Spirit gave you full assurance that
what we said was true. And you know of our concern for you from the
way we lived when we were with you. - 1 Thessalonians 1:5
And
my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's
wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: That your
faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.
- 1
Corinthians 2:4-5
and
my message and my preaching were not in persuasive words of wisdom,
but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, so that your faith
would not rest on the wisdom of men, but on the power of God.
- 1 Corinthians 2:4-5
My
message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but
with a demonstration of the Spirit's power, so that your faith might
not rest on human wisdom, but on God's power. - 1 Corinthians 2:4-5
And
my message and my preaching were very plain. Rather than using clever
and persuasive speeches, I relied only on the power of the Holy
Spirit. I did this so you would trust not in human wisdom but in the
power of God. - 1 Corinthians 2:4-5
